Founded by Chef Barbara Friedel McKnight, Culinaire provides delicious custom cuisine, impeccable staff and stunning décor for a discerning clientele.

A classically trained chef who studied in Germany and Switzerland, Barbara returned to Houston in 1996 to work in the uppermost level of the catering industry. She quickly saw that account executives, not chefs, often created the menus. Worse, clients were sometimes given B-grade service due to overbooking.

In 2000, with the help of gifted designer and event manager Peter Duffney, Culinaire was formed to provide a higher level of personalized attention to Houston's upscale catering clients.
